This last September we installed a new monument at Wyoming's State Veterans Memorial Park. This monument was special, as it was dedicated to veterans who served in campaigns after the Vietnam War. Some of these include Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as tours in Kosovo, Bosnia, Colombia, just to name a few. Many of these are much smaller than World War II or the Korean War, but each life is just as valuable. Buck Wilkerson helped us come up with the concept to have several smaller pillars surround one larger slab of granite. Videographer Matt Wright was on location at the dedication service, and made a small video to remember the occasion:
We hope you travel to Cody and visit the memorial. It is beautiful. Much thanks to Wyoming Governor Matt Mead, Cody's Mayor Nancy Brown, Major General Luke Reiner, and Chaplain David Mcgruder, for their participation in making the occasion memorable.
At Bott Monument we honor all veterans, and we take pride in designing and erecting memorials to help generations to come remember the great sacrifices that have been made.
